PONENCIA. Implementation Of A Polar Robotic Structure To Generate Lingual Movemets For The Tele-Therapy In Speech Therapy”.

RESEÑA. Currently, the tele-medicine provides an alternative to diagnose and monitor users. In speech therapy, tele-medicine solves issues regarding to displacement times and costs due to the need of a qualified therapist for conducting the therapy. We have designed and implemented a system that will complement the process in order to develop a speech tele-therapy. The system will follow in each
therapy the user evolution and will generate a report for the speech therapist with the progress of the child. The project focuses on the design, the kinematics and the implementation of a mechanism for replicating the physiological movements of the tongue, such as, retraction, protrusion, ascent, descent and lateralization. The result is a biomechanical system with 4 DOF with a very high similarity with the human tongue.
